I just opened a issue proposing implementation of a mechanism to opt-in to unsafe collections methods. If anyone has thoughts on the issue it is at https://github.com/scala/collection-strawman/issues/72
I would be happy to do the work implementing the opt-in as well as writing a scalafix migration to make this change backwards compatible.
