2.12.8 release πŸš‚

The 2.12.8 train will soon get going, the release is planned for the end of November.

This release follows shortly after 2.12.7 to fix a few issues. Here is a list of noteworthy changes.

There is only one minor pull request open at this point. So now is a good moment to try a nightly build, we appreciate your feedback:

Any chance you upgrade to ASM 7?

Sorry, that will have to wait until after 2.13.0. We’re only making small fixes in this release to compensate for a few regressions. For 2.12.9, we can see how the ASM 7 upgrade worked out in 2.13.0 and potentially back port it.

I’m curious what would be the benefit?

The nightly build 2.12.8-bin-25c7215 will become 2.12.8 unless new regressions are discovered.

2.12.8 seems solid β€” I’m not aware of any reports of significant, alarming regressions.

there are, however:

but both tickets are in longstanding trouble areas, so it’s more like existing breakage or limitations got rearranged/redistributed a little, rather than something brand new going wrong.
